Principal's Welcome

Nau mai haere mai, afio mai, and welcome to Woodville School. We are a small school on the outskirts of the Manawatū, nestled in-between the Tararua and Ruahine Ranges. We are a school with a lot of history, established in 1877 and laying claim to the oldest classroom in NZ still in use.
Holistically, our school is currently in a rebuilding and reconnecting phase and I am excited to be sharing this journey with the tamariki, the staff, and the community. Student achievement is our main priority, however sitting alongside this is also the importance of looking after the well-being of every learner.

Our strong learning support team ensures help is on hand for tamariki and whānau who might require the extra support and they will go the extra mile to get the best outcome. We all want what is best for all our learners and their whānau so we hope to provide an environment that creates opportunities and successes which will contribute to becoming better at whatever they choose to do.

As a school, we are committed to valuing individualism and growing a sense of belonging within our school whānau, but also take pride in working and learning collectively for the benefit of those around us. As the Principal, I am privileged to be able to lead our staff and tamariki to becoming great servants of Woodville School and its wider community. We look forward to holding more school events so our school whānau and friends can engage with our dedicated team and our talented and creative students.

Ngā mihi
